I'm not sure who is more excited.....the kids or ME! I also can't believe that soon I will have a 2nd and 4th grader! WOW!
It's been an interesting school year - lots of growing and developing for both kids! 1st grade was the "rip the band aid off" year for Brady! He did very well but definitely have his challenges. The rules, quantity of homework, book reports, and STAR testing all added up to my baby growing up! 3rd grade has had it challenges for Abbie too! This is the first year that she could earn an infraction. They are given out for variety of things....missing homework, bad behavior, responsibility, etc...I think she only got 1 the entire year! And it was for missing homework! This is the year where they start to assign assignments that are not necessarily due the next day as well! So time management lessons can into play too! Oh - and remembering to pack the books you need to the homework you have that night....that was a fun one!
All in all - the kids learned, developed, and grew (both of them got much taller this year). So what more can a Mommy ask for! I'm not too worried about 2nd grade (mostly because we have been through it before with Abbie so I know what to expect) but 4th grade is a bit concerning. I have been watching the kids this year carrying projects to class and seeing the various assignments they have been doing! The dreaded Mission Project is ahead of us! I'm sure Abbie will excel as she always does....but I will be a little sad as she does because my baby girl is growing up too fast! I see the Mom's of the 8th graders busy preparing for the end of the year graduation and can only imagine what they feel! But - I know that will be me before I know it!

The picture Brady gave me for Mother's day! LOVE him!

Abbie & Ryan at her last Cotillion this year!
So - here is wishing everyone a great end of the school year and a SUPER fun summer ahead!
