I can't believe that my kids only have 14 more days of school! WOW! It feels like they just started! It has been a great school year - both kids have really blossomed! I am going to ask them to remember some favorite memories and will post as the year winds down! Some of my favorite memories are:
* First day of "BIG" school for Brady! He started St. Jeanne's this year in Pre-K. He did great on his first day...I cried my eyes out after I dropped him off!
* Abbie's first 1st grade spelling test! She felt like such a big girl....and she got 100%!
* The first day Brady actually took a nap at school! He had not taken a nap in over a year....big adjustment....but he did it! And it was pretty quick after school started....I was so proud of him for adapting!
* The first school book we had to cover. I remember doing it every year in high school. Well they do it in First grade now! It was fun to show Abbie that Mom can do something cool...turn a grocery Bag into a book cover that she could color all over! Now that was cool!
*Brady's first school show! It was around Thanksgiving and they did a show the school calls Child Mary. I cried seeing my baby boy on stage singing and praying!
*Report cards....it was Brady's first and Abbie's first "real" one as she called it! Kindergarten didn't count in her eyes!
I am sure I will remember more...but these stand out the most! Next year my babies will be in Kindergarten and 2nd grade! Where does the time go? Can I slow it down? PLEASE????
I cannot believe you guys have already covered book covering!!! I had to stop and think about that one for a second to even get what you were saying. The HS reference tipped me off right away though. Dang.
ReplyDeleteMy mom is still shocked that the kids learn to read in kindergarten now. We never did.
At this rate, our kids should be ready to enter college by 16!
